It began as a call to the Saskatoon Fire Department about several needles needing to be picked up along Circle Drive, North of Laurier Drive. When crews arrived they found it was a lot more than just a few needles. There were needles on both shoulders of the freeway in the northbound lane from just north of Laurier Drive almost as far as the 33rd Street Exit. A second unit was sent out to help with the cleanup. Over 500 needles were collected. It’s not known how the needles came to be there.
