The man charged in relation to last week’s Amber Alert involving six-year old Emma O’Keeffe will make his first court appearance today (mon). 19 year old Johnathan Gunville will be in North Battleford Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. Gunville is facing multiple charges including abducting a child, unlawful confinement, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and theft of a motor vehicle. Emma O’Keeffe had been left in the back of her parents’ running Mercedes that was taken from outside a strip mall in North Battleford on Sunday, September 16th. The six-year-old, who is autistic, epileptic and non-verbal, was found safe almost 14 hours later still inside the S-U-V a few kilometres away from where it was stolen.
