The National Basketball League of Canada is coming to Saskatoon.
The defending champion London Lightning will play the runner-up Halifax Hurricanes in a preseason game November 2 at Merlis Belsher Place. Hurricanes owner and league Chair Mark Lever says they would like to add a five-to-six team Western Division and feels there would be no conflict with the Saskatoon Rattlers because the Canadian Elite Basketball League has a summer schedule. The Rattlers are slated to begin play in May. Tickets go on sale Friday with proceeds going to the Red Cross’s Imagine No Bullying program.
