Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce members are looking to take advantage of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement. The deal which comes into effect tomorrow (Fri) eliminates 98-percent of the tariffs between the two marketplaces. Chamber C-E-O Steve McLellan says the importance of the European deal increases with the uncertainty surrounding NAFTA. McLellan feels Saskatchewan is well positioned to take advantage of the new deal because of partnerships already in place in addition to information available from the trail-blazing business owners who have already made inroads across the pond. In addition to doing the homework, McLellan suggests getting on a plane and aggressively seeking European sales. McLellan remains confident a new NAFTA deal will be struck between Canadian and American negotiators.
