In a video leaked online, the Prime Minister says in speaking with Saskatchewan Chiefs last week that he is upset that the meeting was planned for about 8 people in an hour-long meeting and instead there were many more and there wasn’t enough time for everyone to speak.
He said the time was mismanaged for the amount of time that was allotted .
Chief of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, Bobby Cameron, says they are grateful for the meeting, but more time is needed to discuss the many issues facing First Nations communities.
Since last week, there has been communication with the Prime Minister’s Office, and Cameron says in the future, time will be set aside for those who didn’t receive the opportunity to share.
He adds that the leaked video didn’t capture the whole meeting and could be construed negatively, which is unfortunate.
