Four University of Saskatchewan researchers have been named Fellows of the Royal Society of Canada. That is the largest number ever elected in one year from the U of S. The society is a national fellowship of distinguished men and women from all branches of learning. The new fellows are: Ingrid Pickering, Canada Research Chair in Molecular Environmental Science; Howard Wheater, Canada Excellence Research Chair Laureate in Water Security; John Pomeroy, Canada Research Chair in Water Resources and Climate Change; and Doug Chivers, distinguished professor in the biology department.
As well, the society has named U of S veterinary biomedical scientist Maud Ferrari as a member of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists which celebrates research excellence at an early career stage.
