The President and C-E-O of the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce believes having the Federal Liberal caucus retreat in Saskatoon is an indication the government is interested in the needs and challenges of the bridge city.
Darla Lindjberg said it’s also a chance to connect with Ottawa’s decision makers of the future.
She felt Ralph Goodale has done an excellent job presenting the province’s interests at the cabinet table, but pointed out the Regina M-P, who is Saskatchewan’s only caucus representative, will retire at some point.
Lindjberg said in addition to separate meetings this week, two key cabinet members will speak with Chamber members on Thursday.
Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion as well as Jim Carr, Minister of International Trade Diversification will be on hand for the lunch time event billed as a “Fireside Chat”.
