The eyes of a nation will be on Humboldt again tomorrow night when the Broncos return to the ice. The SJHL season will open with a nationally-televised contest between the Nipawin Hawks and the Broncos as Humboldt plays its first game since the tragic bus crash in April that killed 16 members of the organization and injured another 13. One of those lost was head coach Darcy Haugan. His wife Christina has been front and center in the past few months as her life, like the lives of many others, was turned upside down.
Haugan has decided not to return to work with the Broncos, but she isn’t sure what her future holds and if Humboldt is a part of that future. Haugan says Humboldt has been very good to her family and that leaving wouldn’t be an easy decision.
