Saskatoon Police are looking for a male suspect after a 45 year old woman was robbed of a substantial amount of money in what appears to be a “car for sale” scam.
Police say a distant acquaintance of the victim provided her contact information to a man who apparently had a car up for sale.
The man then made arrangements with the woman for a cash sale of a vehicle. Friday afternoon at 4:30, the woman met the suspect in a parking lot at 8th Street and Clarence Avenue.
The suspect then got into the victim’s vehicle and said he would direct her to where the vehicle for sale was.
After driving for a short time, the suspect grabbed the victim’s purse which contained the cash, and left the car on foot.
He was seen running through a yard in the 1000 block of 9th Street.
Description details are sketchy but the suspect is described as Indigenous, 6 feet tall, with a thin build wearing a dark shirt and checked shorts.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
