It didn’t start out looking like an offensive show for the Saskatoon Blades Thursday night in Prince Albert, but the Bridge City Bunch poured it on over the final 34 minutes and out-scored the Raiders 6-3.
The result improves the Blue and Gold’s record to a W-H-L pre-season best 4-0-0 while P-A is 0-2-0…both losses at home to the Blades. Overage forward Brad Goethals (pictured) scored twice and added an assist while centre Kirby Dach had a goal and two helpers…his first points of the pre-season…to lead the way for the Bridge City Bunch. Josh Paterson, while Saskatoon was short-handed, Michael Farren and rookie Braden Plaschewsky also tallied for the Blue and Gold who out-shot the Raiders 23-19. Max Martin and Carson Miller both scored goals on successive 5-on-3 power plays in the second period that briefly tied the score. Brett Leason finished up the goal-scoring in the third period. Both teams scored twice with the man advantage. They’ll meet for a third time in the exhibition campaign Saturday at 7 p.m. in Warman. Following is the official game summary from the W-H-L…
