It’s going to be a smoke-free campus at the University of Regina as students go back to school. The university made the decision to ban smoking at the beginning of August, after consultations and surveys with students. Darren Cherwaty with the University of Regina says they now join dozens of other campuses across North America that are smoke-free. At the moment, there won’t be any serious repercussions to being caught smoking on campus, as the university understands this to be a bit of a cultural shift. At the University of Saskatchewan, smoking is prohibited inside any building on campus and within a ten meter perimeter of a university building or air intake.
