It’s a different Winnipeg team coming into Saskatchewan for this year’s Labour Day Weekend Classic than last year’s.
The Blue Bombers were on a five-game winning streak last year…and lost 38-24 to the Roughriders. This year, Winnipeg has dropped their last two games badly and are tied with the Green and White for third in the C-F-L West going into Sunday’s contest.
The Labour Day Weekend Classic has become more of a Winnipeg beat-down in recent years. The Riders have won 12 of the last 13 L-D-W-Cs…and 14 of the last 18 since the turn of the century going into Sunday’s edition at Mosaic Stadium. In fact, going into the 55th edition of the Labour Day Weekend Classic, Saskatchewan holds a wide edge in the previous 54, winning 35 and losing just 19 times to the visiting Blue Bombers.
Kickoff time Sunday is 1 p.m. on T-S-N.
