An appeal date has been set in the David Woods case. The 55-year old was convicted of first degree murder four years ago in the November 2011 strangulation death of his wife Dorothy.
Posters for the missing woman were put up across western Canada. Police had placed a GPS tracking device on Woods’ truck and the 45-year-old woman’s body was found in a culvert near Blackstrap Lake about two months after her disappearance. She was wrapped in plastic. Authorities believe she was killed after telling Woods she was leaving him for another man.
Woods argues there were several errors during the two-and-a-half week trial. His case goes before the Saskatchewan Appeals Court October 2nd.
