Aaron Woodrick with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation says a decision by the federal government to purchase the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion Project showed disregard for Canadians paying taxes.
“This government by buying this pipeline shifted the risk from private shareholders onto the backs of Canadians. And you know, now that, now that there is money that is going to be lost it will be Canadians who are going to be losing.”
Woodrick says what the feds need to do now is simply push to have this project they undertook, built. He says because of the federal court ruling it will delay, but hopefully not stop, the building of this pipeline. He says they are certainly urging the Trudeau government to get moving on fixing deficiencies in the consultation so the pipeline expansion can get underway. The proposed pipeline expansion would run from Burnaby to Edmonton. (ckrm Aug 30/18)
