Not surprisingly, 16-year-old left winger Kyle Crnkovic (pictured) survived the first round of Saskatoon Blades’ roster deletions.
Unfortunately for the 10th overall pick in the 2017 W-H-L Bantam Draft, he suffered an injury to his left shoulder during a training camp scrimmage Monday.
“He’s just being evaluated in the next couple of days to see if the swelling goes down a little bit,” explained Blades G-M Colin Priestner with regards to the severity of the injury. “It’s too bad. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be a long-term injury…it’s probably going to be more of a month to two month kind of thing. Luckily, it happened now and we’re not in the season yet, so there’s time for him to heal before we have any (regular-season) games.”
