The Prince Albert Police Service was kept hopping with 221 calls for service since Friday and 34 arrests.
Some of the highlights include an accident Friday morning just after 11:30 when a van hit a tree. Officers found a man and woman in the area that matched the description of those in the van involved in the accident. A 24 year old Prince Albert man faces charges of impaired driving, refusing to supply a breath sample, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and possession of stolen property.
Shortly before 4 on Friday afternoon, officers say they saw a man on a bicycle acting suspiciously and trying to avoid police. After a brief pursuit on foot, police say the suspect resisted arrest and bit an officer on the arm. A 23 year old man now faces several charges in court today in addition to having outstanding warrants.
Meanwhile, both Prince Albert Police and the P-A Fire Department continue to investigate the cause of a fire that involved a detached garage around 11 o’clock Friday night in the 1600 block of 15th Street west.
Finally, sunday evening around 6 p.m., a patrol officer responded to a bar on 2nd Avenue West where there was a report of a guy who was drunk, beating up another man. When the suspect resisted arrest, additional officers were called in and a 41 year old man from Prince Albert is in court today charged with assault and resisting arrest.
