Moose Jaw Police executed a search warrant in that city last night in connection to the homicide that occurred last Friday night. 21 year old Tyrus Ayerst of Moose Jaw – who had been at a home in Moose Jaw visiting – died from what was determined to be a fatal gunshot wound.
As officers were getting ready to head into a home in the city’s northwest last night, they intercepted a person leaving the premises and ended up seizing a loaded handgun. There were others still inside and when all was said and done, one person was charged with possession of methamphetamine, one person faces firearms offences and police continue to investigate although they have not indicated how these arrests are linked to the homicide investigation.
There was a stand off with Regina Police Saturday in order to take 20 year old Sherwyn Pelletier into custody. 24 year old Thomas Redsky McNab was also arrested in Regina that day. Pelletier and McNab, in addition to being charged with 2nd Degree Murder, will face break and enter as well as firearms charges.
