Regina Police are working with the Office of the Chief Coroner in relation to a death of a man Saturday on Stice Crescent.
Around 2:45 this morning, police were sent to a home on Stice Crescent for a suicide call in progress.
Information received by police indicated that a man was in possession of a firearm.
Once police arrived, they located a man outside of the home with a firearm and officers began to talk him, the man then walked away from officers then a gunshot was heard.
Police didn’t have any physical contact with the man and no firearm was discharged from members of police.
EMS then responded and the man died at the scene.
A decision will be made by Saskatchewan Justice as to whether or not an independent party will be assigned to to oversee the investigation.
