Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is about to get another financial shot in the arm.
The benefit concert Music for the Gut in Saskatoon is just about ready for go for an eighth year.
It’s being moved to T-C-U Place for the first time as it will feature 56 performers including a 14-piece band.
Co-Organizer Jamey Houghton says the concert hits home with his family as he, his brother and mother all suffer from Crohn’s or Colitis.
Houghton says some of the best instrumentalists in the country in addition to 40 vocalists will be performing cover versions of hits from popular banks like Queen and Aerosmith.
The list of guest performers includes Jay Semko of the Northern Pikes and Canadian Idol runner-up Theresa Sokyrka.
The event has raised over 100-thousand dollars over the past seven years.
This year’s concert is this coming Thursday. Tickets are available by calling the T-C-U Place box office or at tcutickets.com.
