The Humboldt Broncos open training camp next Friday.
The four training camp teams will practice Friday August 24th with scrimmages scheduled to start the next morning at Elgar Pedersen Arena.
Camp wraps up Sunday night with the Green and Gold game featuring the top 40 players from camp. Opening face-off on August 26th is set for 7 p.m.
Meanwhile Scott Barney joins the organization as an Assistant Coach. The 39-year-old with 19-years of experience as a professional player replaces the late Mark Cross.
Tyrol “Skip” Deeg is the new Athletic Therapist and Equipment Manager.
The 37-year-old from Wynyard has 13-years of Jr-A experience in the role previously held by Dayna Brons.
Brons and Cross were among the 13 people killed when the team bus collided with a semi last April while on their way to a playoff game in Nipawin.
Former Bronco Rhett Blackmur is also stepping aboard as a volunteer Assistant Coach.
