During sustained spells of a particular type of weather I have a tendency to check the forecast fairly often. I have three separate weather apps on my smartphone (don’t ask me why) and often the temperature and conditions for the same day don’t jive from app to app so I just pick the one I like the best and hope it’s slightly less inaccurate than the other two. For today, the weather app that came with my iPhone said it would be 38 degrees and sunny and tomorrow would be exactly the same, 38 and sunny. Sunday would be 25 with possibility of showers but it didn’t say how much of a possibility. The Weather Network app said 37 and sunny today and tomorrow, then 23 on Sunday with a 20% chance of showers. The government of Canada weather app said 38 and sunny today but 28 and sunny tomorrow….that 28 has to be a typo, then 25 Sunday with 40% chance of showers. All three weather programs agree on a very hot day today and, except for the government app, also tomorrow with a cooling trend back to seasonal normal on Sunday and a chance of some rain which wouldn’t be a bad thing. All three are forecasting upper 20’s to low 30’s next week with minor variations depending on the app. One thing is for certain, whether or not we like what it is, the weather outside will be what it is. We are experiencing the Dog Days of summer. After doing any kind of physical activity outside we just lay there with our tongues hanging out.
