On Tuesday, he was named the league M-V-P and, on Wednesday, Mark Matthews was one of three forwards on the National Lacrosse League’s first All-Pro team for the 2018 season.
Matthews led the N-L-L in scoring with 116 points, including a league-record 84 assists. Joining Matthews on the first team is fellow forward and Saskatchewan Rush teammate Robert Church. In addition, Rush defender Kyle Rubish was named to the second All-Pro team. There were no Saskatchewan players on the All-Rookie squad.
Meanwhile, there’ll be a banner-raising at SaskTel Centre on December 8th! That’s when the reigning champion Rush play their first home game of the 2018-19 National Lacrosse League season.
