There’s five changes to the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ 46-man roster (depth chart pictured) for Thursday night’s game in Edmonton from the group that was listed for this past Saturday’s 34-22 loss to Calgary.
But, there are two key ones as two import players have been activated early from the six-game injured list. One of those, you already knew, is quarterback Zach Collaros. He’s listed as the starter. The other one was widely speculated and was confirmed Thursday by the Green and White. Nick Marshall comes off the six-game I-L one game early and will start at cornerback with Duron Carter moving back to offence as a slotback. Carter will replace Caleb Holley, not Namaan Roosevelt. Holley has been placed on the one-game injured list while Roosevelt is okay after landing in his head in the third quarter of Saturday’s loss to the Stampeders and did not return.
Also coming onto the 46-man roster are a trio of Canadians…linebacker Kevin Francis, fullback Albert Awachie and offensive lineman Josiah St. John. Defensive lineman Makana Henry joins Holley on the one-game injured list, quarterback Devin Gardner goes to the practice roster, Canadian defensive back Tristan Doughlin has been transferred to the six-game injured list while running back Jerome Messam was released earlier this week because of a legal matter. The Riders also released import offensive lineman Jarvis Harrison.
