Environment Canada meteorologist Shannon Moodie says central Saskatchewan experienced significant thunderstorm activity yesterday evening.
The worst storms stretched from Meadow Lake, Prince Albert, Melfort, Hudson Bay and into Manitoba. Moodie says Prince Albert and Meadow Lake experienced golf ball sized hail.
Moodie says their weather stations didn’t record significant rainfall but cabin owners from Candle Lake reported a storm moving through that area between 4 and 5 pm on Monday bringing up to 75 millimetres of rain in 20 minutes as well as lightning strikes.
The next chance for possible severe weather will be on Wednesday with credit going to a weather system currently lining up in Alberta. Moodie says it hasn’t really developed so they aren’t sure what is on the way but today will be a very pleasant day in Saskatchewan after unsettled conditions across central areas yesterday evening.
