The C-E-O of the Saskatchewan Health Authority says they continue to work through the challenges of amalgamation. Scott Livingstone feels they are meeting many of the goals set out in December when the 12 previous health authorities were merged into one including the establishment of an internal position recruitment agency. Livingstone points out their biggest challenge is standardizing the procedures and practices from the 12 operations into one with provincial standards in mind. He also says working through those challenges has altered them about the barriers staff and patients faced in the different districts and validated the decision to have a single health authority in Saskatchewan. Livingstone says they continue to study the practices of other amalgamated health authorities while working on achieving their own goals.
