Have you receive that text that you’ve been over-billed by SaskTel and there’s refund for you? It’s a scam. Saskatoon Police say it is happening across the province. The text message will either say the refund is coming on your next bill and you are invited to click on a link to confirm, or, you are directed to click the link to receive the refund through direct deposit. After that, you are taken through a series of steps to send money in order to receive the refund. Police are warning that you not send money to any unverified source and to ask questions before sending money to anyone. Don’t click on any links sent to you from an unverified source. Police say, delete such messages and contact your service provider.
