Saskatoon police say there was an assault around 5 this morning in the 2-thousand block of 20th Street West, with a machete. Officers discovered a 33 year old man who appeared to have been stabbed, he was taken to hospital and it appears that while injuries are serious, they are not life threatening.

Police believe he was attacked in the 200 block of Avenue V south and while they checked the area for a suspect, they didn’t track anyone down. It isn’t known if the victim and the suspect knew each other and police are continuing to investigate although they do ask if anyone has information to call them or Crime Stoppers.
