Despite an eviction notice to be off the lawn by Tuesday evening, several campers in front of the Legislative building remain. They have been camped in front of the Legislature since the Gerald Stanley and Raymond Cormier cases concluded. Camper Prescott Demas says the group wanted a meeting with the provincial government, but that has yet to happen. He says government representatives came out and set a time to meet but then they cancelled the meeting. He says after that, the legislature shut down for the summer and they were given an eviction notice. Central Services says they would like the space for summer activities including Canada Day celebrations, in just under a month.
