There have been a few reports of attempted child abductions in southern Saskatchewan.
On Tuesday, Broadview RCMP responded to a reported attempted abduction of a 12 year old girl on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation.
On Thursday, the Southey RCMP noticed several Facebook posts about an attempt on the Piapot First Nation in early May. It wasn’t reported to police, but officers located the girl and the investigation continues.
The third incident, which ended up being a false report, was that two 10 year old girls were approached separately about a man offering a ride in Carlyle.
RCMP advise caregivers to talk to their children about being safe.
Remind them to be aware of their surroundings and note suspicious people or vehicles and report them immediately.
Don’t approach a vehicle if you don’t know the person. Don’t talk to strangers and have a friend walk with you if possible.
