Saskatchewan Roughriders’ quarterbacks finished Friday’s training camp session “slingin in the rain” at Griffiths Stadium.
It was the first precipitation for the Green and White to deal with this year.
“It’s a good something that they (experienced) because now we’ve done it,” explained G-M and head coach Chris Jones. “Regardless of whether it’s (regular) season or pre-season…we’ve been through it. It’s an opportunity for us to go out and have to execute under the conditions.”
Ten players already sidelined by injury were joined by four others Friday. Defensive back Ed Gainey and defensive lineman Zack Evans didn’t even try to workout while slotback Chad Owens and offensive lineman Dalton Houghton were forced to the sidelines as the morning went on.
