You may have noticed the upgrade work on the Meewasin Trail between the Weir and the Children’s Discovery Museum. It began last year and as of this week the work continues from the Queen Street intersection, heading south to the Children’s Discovery Museum east parking lot. There is a detour around the construction zone, so trail users will have to use the west sidewalk of Spadina Crescent. The lower trails are also closed in this area. When it’s all done, the Meewasin Valley Authority says the upgrade means a new, wider and more accessible trail with improved crossing at Queen Street. Next year’s plan is to restore and replant along the upgrade from Duke Street to the Children’s Discovery Museum using native trees and shrubs.
