Saskatchewan’s official opposition wants to know what the Premier is doing in reaction to the U.S. announcing tariffs of 25 per cent on steel exports from Canada, Mexico and the European Union.
NDP leader Ryan Meili says these tariffs will have a serious, negative impact on the provincial economy with the Evraz plant in Regina.
Premier Scott Moe replied that he is disappointed the U.S. has gone this route and he has spoken to Prime Minister Trudeau about the issue.
Moe will be in Washington next week to discuss trade issues and push for a new NAFTA agreement.
