What was feared to be a white powder scare at Saskatoon City Hall turned out to be a sweet misunderstanding.
Police cordoned off the area at around 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon and while emergency crews were getting their hazmat suits on and taking the necessary precautions, Assistant Fire Chief Wayne Roger said they made the discovery that it was sugar and tests confirmed it was what many of us add to our coffee and tea.
Roger said they found out a sugar delivery was made to City Hall earlier in the day and some spilled near one of the entrances.
