The Premier of Saskatchewan feels Ottawa should take the Kinder Morgan Pipeline expansion issue to the next level. Scott Moe says it’s time for federal officials to take B-C to task for opposing the project.
Moe points out if Ottawa can threaten to hold back infrastructure money from this province over the carbon tax without justification, it can claw back funds earmarked for British Columbia in this case because it has the legal right.
The Western Premiers Conference yesterday in Yellowknife was to discuss issues such as a national pharmacare program and legalization of recreational marijuana — but the Trans Mountain pipeline project dominated instead. Alberta deputy premier Sarah Hoffman says she was looking for a consensus in favour of the expansion and when that wasn’t forthcoming — she refused to sign the final communique from the conference.
