A month and a half after the tragic bus crash that killed 16 members of the Humboldt Broncos and injured 13 others, the funds from the go-fund-me page are being dispersed to the 29 families affected. Over $15.1 million was raised, but 2.9 percent will be going to the company that runs the site as a service fee. Scott Thomas is the father of Evan Thomas, who was killed in the accident. He says the families are sticking together in the grieving process. He says he couldn’t imagine going through it alone. He says the families are going through the process together and there is a lot of comfort in that. Broncos team President Kevin Garinger spoke on the matter of the trademarking for #HumboldtStrong, saying a process is in place between the SJHL and the Broncos for the team to take over the trademark.
