The Greater Saskatoon Catholic School District says there isn’t enough money to bring back Intensive French. The program that started with grade six students doing all of their subjects in French was put on hold for this year after the 2017 funding cut from the Provincial Government. Director of Education Greg Chatlain says the board had hoped to reinstate the program this coming fall if enough funding was restored. Chatlain says students can still take Core French and French Immersion. Intensive French was offered at six Saskatoon schools and two in Humboldt.
