CNIB, along with WorkSafe Saskatchewan, are at Bishop Murray High School this morning (mon) promoting workplace safety and eye-injury prevention. During the presentation, students will be given two pairs of safety glasses: One to keep and one to pass on to a friend or relative. CNIB Provincial Director Christall Beaudry says, “100 per cent of eye injuries are avoidable with the use of proper eye protection.” She says her organization is committed to reducing the number of eye injuries by 50 per cent by the year 2020. The three main causes of workplace injuries or death among youth are: A lack of supervision or training, minimal knowledge of rights and responsibilities, and lack of experience in recognizing hazardous situations.
