A consultant’s report recommends the Saskatoon Police Service increase patrols. It points out patrols have decreased since a 2014 audit because it’s believed officers on duty are spending more time responding to calls. According to the report, other parts of a ten year strategic plan should focus on dealing with increased demand brought on by a growing population and the city’s expansion and with the many vulnerable people police encounter. The report will be reviewed at Thursday’s Board of Police Commissioners meeting.
