Saskatoon Police say there is a new scam making the rounds in town – the sale of fake gold jewelry. Nearly a dozen reports to police either have victims saying they were approached to buy the jewelry or they bought the jewellery and discovered it wasn’t real.
The reports are coming in from all over Saskatoon and in most cases the suspects say they need money to get home. The man and woman are estimated to be 40 to 50 years of age with heavy accents. Sometimes these individuals are trying to make the sale on foot or they are in a vehicle with an Ontario license plate. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
