Through buyouts and layoffs, there will be 42 fewer jobs at Sask Polytech.
NDP leader Ryan Meili expects the provincial budget shortfalls are to blame and says these cuts come at a time when Saskatchewan needs a well-trained workforce.
Advanced Education Minister Tina Beaudry-Mellor, says it wasn’t budget related.

Sask Polytech looks at labour market demand and shifts programs accordingly.
Beaudry-Mellor points out that indigenous enrolment has risen 53 per cent in 10 years, with 85 per cent of indigenous graduates employed. (CKRM)
