Sherry Anderson’s Saskatoon-Nutana squad lost for the first time Wednesday at the World Senior Women’s Curling Championship in Sweden.
Canada lost 8-7 to the host country, leaving the Anderson foursome with a 5-1 record, tied with the United States for first place in Pool A while the Swedes are 4-1. Canada’s last preliminary round-robin game is Thursday morning against Australia. They have clinched a playoff spot…as has Canada’s entry in the World Mixed Doubles Championship, being held simultaneously with the World Seniors event. Kirk Muyres of Humboldt and partner Laura Crocker of Edmonton bounced Germany 9-4 early Wednesday morning, leaving them with a 6-0 record. Their last preliminary round-robin game is early Thursday against Korea.
