Police are getting ridiculously good at catching distracted drivers. That’s the assessment of SGI’s Tyler McMurchy. He says a record 711 people were ticketed for that last month as SGI’s traffic safety focus spotlight shone on distracted drivers. 583 were handed out for cell phone use. 329 people were caught for impaired driving, and 320 for seatbelt infractions. McMurchy also says police nabbed a lot of people for speeding or aggressive driving. There were nearly 43 hundred tickets for speeding or aggressive driving. McMurchy reminds people that, that happens to be the spotlight this month. He also reminds people that as of May 1st, all of those speeding tickets will became more expensive .
