Exxplore Emergency Services, a one day showcase to raise awareness and educate women and girls about careers in police and fire will be happening on May 12th.
Sergeant with the Saskatoon Police Service, Tonya Gresty says those who sign up will have the opportunity to try on equipment, learn defensive tactics and check out the indoor gun range.
Gresty adds the SPS is currently sitting at a 28 percent female demographic with those in uniform who you would see in the community and she says they’re always looking to add more women. The one day free event has 150 spots available for those interested in signing up.
Even though the event is directed at women and girls, anyone is welcomed to sign up at the email address exxplore@saskatoon.ca.
