There is no increase for ratepayers in the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School District this year.
However, there is also no money to start planning a new St. Frances Cree Bilingual School.
Superintendent Joel Lloyd says they are disappointed considering the province appears to be on board with the project.
Lloyd says the school’s administrators, the board and community will work together to decide what happens now considering they have limited space for its growing enrollment.
District officials expect to move forward on a new facility once funding is approved.
Lloyd points out the province has approved an additional 4.3 million dollars to deal with the projected increase of close to 500 students next year.
Lloyd says that will allow the district to keep the status quo but limits any additional support for students over the next year.
