Ted Gross with the Country Thunder Foundation says when the Tribute Concert to the Humboldt Broncos concludes, 29 cheques will be written to 29 families. The Foundation describes it as a night of music, hockey and healing.
Some of Canada’s country music superstars are taking part including Dallas Smith, Chad Brownlee, Brett Kissel, Jess Moskaluke, Gord Bamford and the Hunter Brothers.
Scott Ford with SaskTel Centre says they are hoping to fill the building on April 27th and to fill SaskTel Centre, that means selling approximately 13,000 tickets. Tickets go on sale at noon today (weds).
April 6th the Humboldt Broncos Team Bus collided with a semi. 16 hockey players and team staff were killed, 13 were injured, 9 remain in hospital with two are in critical condition.
There are two funerals planned for today for victims of the crash: Dayna Brons, the 24-year-old athletic trainer for the team will be laid to rest in Humboldt during a ceremony at the Elgar Petersen Arena at 11:30. And the funeral for 21 year old Conner Lukan, a player with the team, will be held in Slave Lake Alberta.
