The W-H-L’s Kootenay ICE are doing their part to help out the families of two specific victims of the Humboldt Broncos bus tragedy.

The ICE drafted forwards Logan Schatz (pictured at right) and Evan Thomas (pictured at left) in the W-H-L Bantam Draft…Schatz in the ninth round in 2012 and Thomas in the 10th round in 2014. The Kootenay organization will put out donation boxes, starting Thursday and running through May 4th, at their team store at Western Financial Place in Cranbrook, B-C. Financial support will be accepted and delivered to both families. In addition, silent auction items will be bid on with proceeds going to the Schatz and Thomas families as well. ICE release plans to support Broncos, Thomas and Schatz

Cranbrook, B.C. – The Kootenay ICE Hockey Club announced Tuesday its fundraising efforts in support of Evan Thomas and Logan Schatz.

Beginning Thursday, April 19, the ICE will have a donation box set up at the ICE Gear Store at Western Financial Place and will accept any cheques or forms of payment in support of Evan Thomas and Logan Schatz. Funds will be raised until Friday, May 4 and delivered to both families at the conclusion of the campaign.

In addition, the ICE will have numerous silent auction items available with all proceeds going directly to the families of Evan Thomas and Logan Schatz, former members of the ICE organization who tragically lost their lives in the recent devastating accident involving the Humboldt Broncos.

The items will be available from Thursday, April 19 to Friday, May 4 at 5 p.m.

The ICE are also preparing a banner of support for the entire Humboldt Broncos organization. The ICE encourage ICE Country to visit the ICE Gear Store to write a message of support from our community that will be delivered directly to the Humboldt Broncos. The final day the banner will be available for signing will be at the Drive to 25 Family BBQ on Saturday, May 12 at Bridge Interiors (details to be released next week).
