The Saskatchewan Rush split their weekend doubleheader as they fell 16-10 to the visiting Georgia Swarm at SaskTel Centre last night. The Swarm’s Lyle Thompson and Randy Staats combined for 9 goals in the win. With the win the Swarm now move into a first place tie with the Rochester Knighthawks in the NLL’s Eastern Conference. After giving up the first goal of the night to the Rush’s Jeff Shattler, Georgia started to run away with the game as the Swarm scored the next 4 goals. The Swarm also had a dominating third quarter as Georgia scored 27 seconds into the third and added another goal a 1:13 later to make it a 8-3 game. “Yeah things didn’t go our way but uh… no excuses they uh.. played harder than us, they played like a team that needed a win to get into the playoffs.” said Ryan keenan following the game who scored two of the 10 goals the Rush scored Saturday night. The Rush have next weekend off and then wrap up the regular season on Saturday, April 28th at home against the Calgary Roughnecks. April 28th’s broadcast begins at 6:30 with the Rush Hour Pre-Game Show on 98 Cool.
