Students will be competing for more than just verdicts of guilt or innocence. The Saskatoon Branch of the Canadian Bar Association is holding a mock trial competition Saturday in the city’s downtown. Students from Prince Albert, Regina, Melville and Yorkton will be the lawyers and witnesses in front of real judges and court staff. Law Day Chair Christopher Weitzel says the students will be given specific siutations to act out hoping they will feel more comfortable about the law and court process after the hands-on experience. The competition at Saskatoon’s Court of Queen’s Bench on Spadina Crescent starts at 10;30. It’s open to the public.
