F.W. Johnson Collegiate in Regina was the site of a potential threat this morning which forced the school to be placed in Secure-the-Building which has now since been lifted.
Just after 10, the school was placed in Secure-the-Building after police received statements that students had previously been threatened by another student at the school with threats of an assault with a firearm.
The 15 year old who allegedly made the threats was reported to not be in attendance today.
Police then arrived at the suspect’s home, where he was located and arrested.
No firearms were found at the suspect’s home and the Secure-the-Building was lifted at 11:15. The investigation is on-going and anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Secure the Building is a situation where it is believed a threat is currently outside the building resulting in the decision to secure the school by locking all outside doors. Each outside door is then monitored by a school staff member until the Secure the Building has been lifted. Entry and exit of the building will be at the front doors only and are also monitored by school staff and police.
