While the grieving continues for those killed and injured in Friday’s collision between the Humboldt Broncos’ team bus and a semi-trailer unit just north of Tisdale, the S-J-H-L finds itself in a state of limbo.
The tragedy, in which 15 members of the Broncos were killed and the other 14 on the bus were injured, occurred as the Humboldt team was travelling to Nipawin for Game 5 of their best-of-seven semi-final series.
“We will have conversations as to what the Humboldt Broncos want to do,” explained S-J-H-L president Bill Chow with regards to the status of the series and the overall league season. ” We will then have some discussions with our governors of the league. Whatever decision we make, we’re going to do what we think is in the best interests of everybody involved.
“There’s going to be people who disagree with however we decide. And, there’s going to be people that agree with what we decide. So, at the end of the day, what we’re going to do in what we think is right. And, that’s just what we’re going to do.”
